USA has been home for me for about 20 years now, from being a student, to getting married, to being a successful corporate professional, and then a mother of twins, to now having my own small business, I have always lived life very impulsively on my own terms.

Pregnancy was almost a 6-year long struggle and conception, an even greater challenge owing to a high-risk pregnancy and my age only added to the complications.
And so, I made a conscious decision to become a stay at home mom.
When my lovely twins were born, I decided to take a break and completely focus on their upbringing and nurturing. I was blessed with them after a long wait, so I wanted to enjoy motherhood without the pressures of an 8-5 job, deadlines or early morning travels. I wanted to be a dedicated, hands-on mom.
Raising my kids was the only project on hand and I wanted to do it to the best of my ability.
The transition from being a full-time career woman to a stay at home mom was not easy, it was a struggle to leave an established career of 15 years and walk away from a six-figure salary. I knew it was a big sacrifice, but my thought process was very clear, having worked for a long time I was completely aware that this day was going to come, where I will have to choose between career and family. I wasn’t fully prepared for it, but I was ready to face the consequences of my choices.
I’d rather regret something that I did than something I never did.
I have always been a quality and perfection seeker in all my endeavors, and motherhood was no different.
I believe if I had continued working while trying to raise a family, I wouldn’t have been able to give complete justice to either of the roles.
Moreover, having worked all my life since the age of 17, taking this sabbatical sort of gave me ample time to think about other things such as lost hobbies and buried passions which had taken a back seat in pursuit of life...
One such musing took the shape of Turquoiz Touch, the inception of my couture jewelry brand, which would not have been possible, had I continued with my corporate career. Guess this was destiny's plan for me.
We always spend our energy fretting over how to make things go our way, whereas we forget to turn around and look that maybe our way was not the best way after all.
Whatever happens, happen for the better as it's the divine plan.
