Everyday is Mother’s Day, isn’t it? Today we have a daughter making a heartfelt dedication to her two mothers.

My mom and my mother-in-law are in India, and it’s been a long time since I visited them, this Mother’s Day I want to do a dedication to both of them.

My mom was born and raised in a business family. She was the eldest daughter in the family and since an early age she learned to do a lot of chores herself. Then, she got married to a small and sole business owner. While my dad worked 7 days a week, my mom took care of us 3 siblings. We were in English medium school and my mom was not educated in English medium. To help us with schoolwork, she started learning English and didn’t stop until she learned it, she was very proud of that achievement. This has been my biggest learning from my mom, to never stop learning new things and there’s no age to learn.

What I learned from my mother in law is how she puts everyone else before herself. I can’t speak her language, but every time we talk, I never feel this as a barrier, we still communicate and connect. She is very kind and sweet. Since a young age she managed a big family. My husband’s family moved a lot because of my father in law’s work, and they had to stay away from their parents. My mother in law understands how I feel living far away from our families.

She is always concerned about our well-being, it’s never about her, she always puts us before her needs.

I owe a lot to both my mothers. this is my dedication to them, every day I try to learn from them, I try to follow their footsteps, every day I try to be that mom to my kids what they are to their kids.
